About the Councilmember

Newcastle City Councilmember

I'm proud to be a citizen of Newcastle, WA.

I have spent two years on the Newcastle City Planning Commission as a volunteer planning commissioner before my appointment to the Newcastle City Council and have grown an appreciation as to what it means to run a city. As a City Councilmember I work to build bridges, not silos. I act as your friend and neighbor who encourages open discussion of the issues facing our city.

Professionally I have been helping organizations address problems and manage change by recognizing that solutions can be found through many different approaches. My approach considers our shared values which include the desire to make Newcastle the best place to live and to deepen our small town roots.

I prioritize communication, public safety and fiscal stability so that Newcastle has a foundation to grow as the state and county will require of us over the next two decades. The steps we take today will have far-reaching effects into the future of our community so we must have a city council with a long-term view.

I also know that giving is the heart of community. While my career has been spent in the technology industry, I've found real joy in the simple act of volunteering. For the past decade, I've worked with The First Tee of Greater Seattle (2020 Volunteer of the year) and am currently on the Advisory Board Tombolo Institute of Design Thinking at Bellevue College.
